In a sudden turn of events, the AUU Clubs Committee has deregistered the League of Legends Club as per clubs committee rules where ‘the Union will not register a club with substantially similar objectives to an existing club.’ The Clubs Committee stated that because the two clubs were ‘basically the same’ the AUU does not see value in funding both. It is alleged that at least one member of the Clubs Committee is on the executive of the DOTA club. Members of the now disaffiliated League of Legends club expressed their disappointment in the clubs committee decision but were not willing to provide specific comment.
